Annual AIIA Community 5k

  • Highland Glen Park 4800 Knight Avenue Highland, UT, 84003 United States (map)

Join us on Labor Day for the best Recovery Run in Utah. We plan to have an in-person race located in Highland, Utah starting at 8:00 am as well as a Virtual option!! We want to bring everyone together from across the world. Our hope is that we can bring thousands together running toward the same goal.

Our annual race is our largest fundraiser of the year. Join us as we Erase the Stigma of addiction and Replace it with Hope, Recovery, and Support! This 5K will serve as a proxy runner event. A proxy runner is a loved one who uses their legs in honor of a loved one who has lost the battle to addiction and or mental illness, as a sign of love for a family member or loved one who is still battling, or in celebration of someone in recovery. We hope to impress on your heart the real fight so many people in recovery face. From family support to those who have lost a friend or family member to addiction or mental health struggles. We invite you to Run/Walk as a proxy for those who can’t. Let’s combat the negative stigma in society by coming together and sharing openly.

Get your family and friends together and create a fundraising team in your name or your loved ones' name! You can also email a picture with name and dates for us to share on a sign in our memory grove section of the race course. Make sure to email the picture before September 15th so we can make sure to have them in time for the race. lizz@addicttoathlete.org
